Our family, of four, was making short time of the many sandhills between McCook, NE and Broken Bow, NE. All the while, tuning into Andrew Peterson. When this song came on, I was arrested once again, with the odd reality that this earth is not mine. In fact, my life is not my own but the life I have been given is to be a palpitating expression of longing for the Lord. The ultimate reward being Himself on that reckoning day. The day that even the earth groans for. Suddenly, Peterson sings several seemingly paradoxical attributes of God. Just as we flew over a hill, there was the suspended tummy sensation accompanying a seriously deep, "WHOA!" God you are AMAZING - totally different than everything else! You are HOLY and I am thrilled at the wonder of You!
Consider the cause and effect from our dear brother John: "Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure." 1John 3:2,3
O, what indescribable power and wonder at beholding Him!
